Rita Ileana Benavente Melendez

I am a 45 years old girl from Nicaragua. I've been living in Canada for the last 35 years. I was born in a third world country and although I've been lucky to grow up in such an amazing country as Canada I have never forgot where I come from nor the reality of the people that live in Nicaragua. I am convinced that undeveloped countries need the help of people that have experienced other realities, that know what is to live in a country with democratic governments, access to education and health services. 

I am a believer the only way to change the world is to care for those that are less fortunate than us. Is to feel responsible for the faith of our peers. We cannot be accomplished human beings unless we have a positive impact on someone else's life. Our mission is to participate in any way we can to the well being of others. We need not only to believe all individuals are entitled to basic human rights but make ourselves part of the process that will make it possible.

I've been working in project management in IT for the last ten years. I would like to offer my experience and my knowledge to organisms that believe their mission and the way they collaborate with their employees can have a positive impact on their community.

I speak Spanish, Portuguese, French and English fluently. I have worked with international entities and local ones, have managed project with a very large scope involving cross-functional teams as well as smaller missions. The recipe remains the same: rigor, thoroughness, commitment and collaboration.

I hope my skills and experience can be of any help to any organization that believes in collaboration and positive change through small gestures.

I have been a project manager in IT for the last 10 years. My strength is to develop a synergy between all team members in order to make deliveries possible. To identify each member's capacities and put it to the service of the project.

I did not study in project management. I learned my profession on the field and by individual training. I am presently completing a certificate at HEC Montreal in project management and have completed Google's certification in Project Management and IBM's Certification in Product management.
