Sarah Montague

I am currently in my final year of post-secondary education with a degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Brock University, and am completing an associates diploma with the University of Guelph for equine care and management.

Through my professional and volunteer experiences I have been able to develop a multitude of skills that I have been able to consistently add onto, improve and utilize in each position I have worked. While working with children, I was able to further develop my skills in communication. By having a strong base of communication skills built through my previous experience I was able to utilize my skills more while I was working in the customer service industry. Not only were my communication skills honed, but also my organizational and time management skills. Through planning lessons and activities for the children, and ensuring that guest in the restaurant were taken care of in a timely manner, I was able to continuously use and grow my abilities when it came to organization and time management

Not only have my previous jobs given me the chance to obtain new skills and enhance existing ones, but they have also prepared me for a variety of different situations. Through my wide array of experience in many different types of employment I feel that I am able to work well under pressure, and make important decisions quickly and correctly while staying calm. With all of my experiences and skills that I have been able to grow over the years I have been working I feel confident that I will be able to work well in the equine therapy industry and many others because my skills are transferrable to a variety of different.

I have recently been able to study more business management and marketing practices through my management diploma with the University of Guelph. This program has also helped me to hone my skills with Microsoft office and similar applications. I have been able to continue to grow on my skills and knowledge that I learned throughout my psychology degree when it comes to oral and written communication.
