I worked on nanofiltration and reverse osmosis to treat landfill leachate, which contains 2 times more salt concentration than marine water. This project was successfully completed for the Quebec government, Canada. Article published.

Groundwater polluted with Landfill leachate, containing high concentrations of toxic metals, ions and salts (2-fold higher than seawater), was impossible to treat using conventional treatment. We developed a combined treatment process for MDDEP (Ministère du Développement durable de l'Environnement et des Parcs), Quebec. This treatment produced high-quality (free from pollutants) water.
