  • Municipality of the County of Colchester – Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk                                  December 2014 –Present

Preparation of bi-weekly regular and special payrolls and ensuring union and non-union employees receive accurate and timely payment; set up automatic electronic transfers to employee’s banks; Calculate deductions such as income tax, union dues, benefits, etc.; Review to ensure that all incoming additions, deletions, changes and time records are properly authorized prior to input; Maintain all payroll records and prepare all required payroll documentation, including information related to salaries, vacation pay, and deductions. Ensure all remittances to Canada Customs and Revenue Agency are prepared, authorized and remitted promptly, within established deadlines; Prepare all payroll related information documents within established deadlines (i.e., T4’s, Union, Employees ROE’s). Wait on tax counter and provide assistance such as helping with inquires and processing payments and on an as need basis. Answering and redirecting calls from the main line of the County.

 

  • Municipality of the County of Colchester – Receptionist/Administrative Support                October 2013 –December 2014

Serve as primary point of contact in the main municipal building, manage a multi-line phone system, responsible for overall receptionist activities including greeting all visitors, assisting citizens and others in responding to inquiries, providing general information and directing telephone calls, coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, preparing forms and reports utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases and other software. 

 

  • Town of Truro – Financial Assistant                                                                                                                May 2012-May 2013

Processed and posted water and tax bills, assisted with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll,  processed daily general postings and completed bank reconciliations. Wait on tax counter and provide assistance such as helping with inquires and processing payments and on an as need basis.
