Subo Ranatunga

I’m a video editor with over 10 years of professional experience in post-production, working on high-profile projects for companies like Goldtooth, SPIN VFX, and Stereo D. My work has included editing VFX-heavy content, assembling edits, and creating pitches that set the pacing for final deliverables. I’ve had the privilege of contributing to projects for major clients such as Marvel and Disney, all while maintaining strict confidentiality under NDAs.

My career began at Stereo D as a Stereo Editor, where I worked on big-budget Hollywood films, and I later expanded my expertise as a VFX Editor and Assistant Editor. I’ve been using MacOS and Adobe Creative Cloud for over 20 years, giving me a strong technical foundation for all aspects of post-production.

Recently, I’ve been exploring new opportunities in adjacent fields like game development, virtual production, and even customer service, where I can bring my creativity, technical skills, and adaptability to new challenges. I’m excited to continue growing and applying my experience in fresh and innovative ways.

I studied Television Broadcasting at Conestoga College from 2009 to 2011, where I built a foundation in live production, on-air presentation, and technical operations. Later, I deepened my creative expertise by studying Film Production at the Toronto Film School from 2013 to 2015. There, I honed my skills in storytelling, directing, and post-production, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and techniques. Together, these programs prepared me for a dynamic career in the creative industry.
