Temitope Owolabi

I am an enthusiastic learning support worker with 3 and half years experience working with children and children with learning disabilities. I am a passionate advocate for helping disadvantaged children excel in their education with confidence, whilst also supporting the classroom teacher.

I am well qualified and have completed numerous online training Like safeguarding children, managing challenging behavior, Childs needs and development, and many more. I believe I would be a great asset to the school due to my past experience working in schools and with children with special educational needs.

 I have worked with children with all types of special needs including autism, ADHD, and Asperger's syndrome. I have a lot of patience and an excellent understanding of child development and using intervention strategies to aid learning.

I enjoy assisting students in the classroom and helping them build confidence in their ability to achieve, academically and socially. I believe that my experience, alongside my reading, writing, numeracy, and communication skills would be a great asset to your school.  

In my current role as a Learning Support Assistant in a Junior School for ages 7 to 11, I work with some adorable children who require learning support such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Asperger's Syndrome. The nature of this role requires passion and energy, patience, compassion, empathy, and good communication, all of which I naturally possess and have acquired in my past personal and work
experiences. These skills have helped me identify the children's areas of need using my assessment and I tailor their care and learning plans toward their individual areas of need. I also provide support during child therapy sessions. 

I support the children with instructions and support children in social interactions. I maintain records and advise teachers on the needs of specific children. We always have a wonderful time together during both indoor and outdoor activities. I bond well with my pupils and ensure their safety at all times. They believe in me and see me as their best companion. I always feel motivated and fulfilled seeing them carry out tasks that seem difficult with little support. I have also undergone the following essential training in my current job role: Safeguarding children, Managing difficult situations, and the SEND code of practice. All these trainings have been effective in my daily work with the children. 

Furthermore, I am a quick learner, and I am always eager to acquire new skills and knowledge to enhance my performance.Also in my current role as a learning support assistant where I support children with different learning disabilities, I noticed a colleague was getting
overwhelmed managing some of the children with challenging behavior, I have to step in to help and give her the necessary support that she needs,
I worked closely with her for the remaining days of the week letting her take a few minutes break each time she is stressed while I step in for her just to let her know we are all in the same boat, every day will not be the same and I am always here to help. She feels much better and she's managing
her stress a lot better now. we are a team After all and we are all working together to achieve a common goal. I focus on somethings things working
as part of a team, the first thing is to always focus on working towards the team goals, to be supportive of my work colleagues, to work to each team member's strengths and experience, and lastly what we could do next time to improve our performance.

My qualities are many and varied, including the ability to work under pressure and a desire to provide quality learning support, and a passion for impacting positively in children's lives, I am very hard-working and I enjoy working as part of a team to achieve a common goal. I am currently studying health and social care level 7, to enable me to learn all about how individuals are impacted by issues like mental health, poverty, and the use of recreational drugs. As well as important sector aspects like human rights, the law, and contemporary issues in social policy. I see this rich education can be the start of my career in many avenues of care and support . 

Aside from finding a career that speaks to my interests, I can gain a great sense of fulfillment in my work as s well as a wage that makes my efforts not only virtuously, but financially worthwhile.
