My name is Victoria, I'm 22 years old and I am a Continuing Care Assistant at a couple long term care facilities! I have been doing this for about four years and am very passionate about what I do. I am currently working full time but looking for work in Calgary as my sister now lives there.

• Assist patients, those with physical or mental disabilities, with activities of daily living such as feeding, mobilizing, dressing and personal hygiene. 
• Light housekeeping in patients rooms, bed making and ensuring all rooms in the facility are adequately stocked. 
• Suppository and oral medication administration, simple dressing changes under the direction of the charge nurse.
• Training new hires with and without past experience in care.
• Documenting and charting on patients including sending referrals to the therapies (OT/PT), maintenance requisitions when needed to ensure safety for residents and fellow employees and adhering to SHA policies and procedures by staying up to date.
