About William Tran:
Growing up as a first-generation Canadian has shaped me into a person with a global perspective, who is highly adaptable and coachable. I will find ways to adapt whether it be asking the right questions, asking for help, or getting the right information I need to get things done. I am open-minded and eager to take on new challenges. I am not insecure about any abilities I lack, and I am willing to learn for personal growth.
My previous experience has equipped me for the demands and challenges that lie ahead. I have 12 months of experience working at Honda of Canada Manufacturing as a Project Manager and Equipment Reliability intern. As a project manager, I was able to grow and develop my leadership, communication, and organizational skills by managing two projects that improved the paint quality of the car bodies and efficiency of the painting process. With the presentations of my plan to the department and plant managers, I attained a combined budget of $600,000 and executed these projects. It was forecasted that my design and implementations would save my employer $450,000 per year. I learned the importance of communication with your team, documenting every change you make, and thinking creatively when solving problems. I designed, fabricated, and implemented various components in the manufacturing plant to accommodate the new model product which enhanced my CAD software skills, hands-on fabrication skills, and general understanding of mechanical equipment.
I love finding solutions to problems utilizing my experiences and solving challenges that lead to better and more efficient products and procedures.
