Duties and Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Associate Dean, Research and International, Sprott School of Business, the Knowledge Mobilization and Research Support Officer is responsible for the administrative support for Research Faculty, Research Chairs, Research Centres and International Partnerships.


The officer will be in charge of the administrative affairs stemming from research and international activities, including research communications and outreach activities, research and international strategic planning and research areas of development; policy and funding programs; research and international partnerships.


The officer will be responsible for administrative responsibilities related to research knowledge mobilization and research impact communications; providing administrative support to research; and providing administrative support to international initiatives.


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • The ability to interact with clients, external and internal to Sprott School and Carleton University, cordially, and provide excellent customer service;
  • Knowledge of research topics and trends would be an asset
  • The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team;
  • The commitment to maintain confidentiality;
  • The ability to set priorities and to organize and present material accurately and clearly;
  • The ability to formulate a solution tactfully with clients looking for research, research faculty, and graduate research student's information, including determining the precise nature of their request and its degree of urgency;
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding basic French is an asset.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through:

  • The completion of an honours Bachelor's degree preferably in business, or equivalent, with exposure to research activities and international partnerships.
  • Five years of relevant professional experience working in the area of Research or International Relations is a must.
  • Professional experience in postsecondary administration would also be an asset.
