The Role


Reporting to the Swim Operations Manager, Richmond and Jericho, this role will collectively and efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of the Pedalheads Swim program at the River Club (Richmond) and Jericho Hill Centre (Vancouver).


You will uphold Pedalheads program excellence, safety standards and personalized customer service while maintaining both facilities and ensuring staffing needs are met.

You will work with the Swim Operations Manager, Richmond and Jericho, to train and mentor staff, and oversee the maintenance and operations of both facilities.


Responsibilities - In addition to sharing your ideas on how we can grow, learn and build in this role, you'll also:

  • Be the on-the-ground mentor and go
- to person for tips, tricks, and instructing advice. Supervise and be the responsible individual for the facility, staff & programs when the Swim Manager is not present.

  • Enhance aquatic instruction by sharing teaching techniques and program knowledge. Reinforce Pedalheads Swim's advanced teaching methodologies.
  • Provide effective, professional customer service. Be familiar with all Pedalheads programs and relays information to the public in a polite, helpful manner.
  • Monitor staff job performance.
  • Monitor and ensure program and safety standards are being followed.
  • Help to coordinate staffing and scheduling of instructors. Help review payroll and staff tracking documents.
  • Ensure classes start and end on time and progressive evaluations are being completed for swimmers.
  • Assist in conflict resolution and complaint followup procedures, alongside the Operations Manager.
  • Report, update, and advise the Operations Manager of customer feedback, facility maintenance tasks, and staffing tasks.
  • Take ownership of security and maintenance of the River Club and Jericho facilities; ensuring the pools are properly maintained and abide by Health Regulations.
  • Perform chemical adjustments to pools as needed. Aid Operations Manager to provide routine safety and cleaning inspections.
  • Assist the Operations Manager to liaise with tradespeople, facility owners, and pool maintenance companies to see that facilities are run correctly, and issues are solved in a timely manner.
