What You'll Be Doing


Capital Markets and Direct Financial Services provides integrated services and products aimed at serving investors as well as corporate and institutional clients globally.

The Capital Markets business is a recognized leader in the industry specializing in investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and research.

In addition, the Direct Financial Services arm provides alternate services and solutions such as direct investing, direct banking and unique international payment solutions.

The successful applicant will provide business management support to Global Investment Banking ('GIB').

The role will act as a liaison between the businesses (front office) and the rest of the Bank to ensure all business strategies, initiatives, projects, operational issues are addressed and resolved.

How You'll Succeed

Strategy & Business Execution Support - Support and contribute to the strategic business initiatives, working closely with the Head of Global Investment Banking and other senior leaders


Collaboration - Collaborate with other business management team and Finance Business Support to develop and deliver presentations for senior management, town halls, onsite/offsite conferences, and ad-hoc requests.

Partner with infrastructure groups, such as Operations, Finance, Risk Management, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and other corporate governance groups, to implement and execute strategic business plans and initiatives

Relationship Building - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and help address and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise

Administration - Provide support to the GIB administration and executive support team for various requests and issues. Oversee the deal file maintenance and records management processes and ensure compliance with policies and standards. Oversee the employee onboarding and offboarding processes, organization chart updates, seating plan and liaise with HR and IT teams. Organize and oversee all employee events, and business committee meetings.

Assist with the creation of presentations for employee events, such as town halls and offsites, using PowerPoint and other tools.


Other Responsibilities - Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with the business and stakeholders on a day-to-day basis.

Accessible to the business throughout the day to actively respond to information requests and resolve day-to-day issues. Manage GIB intranet resources. Act on ad hoc requests/projects, as required.


Who You Are- You have knowledge of capital markets products (products and processes) with a minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in capital markets or a corporate development function- You possess Undergraduate degree; MBA/CFA/CA is an asset- You have proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint- You are a problem solver.

Strong problem solving, analytical, judgment and change-implementation capabilities- You are a strong communicator.

Excellent oral and written communications skills- You have strong multitasking and time-management skills - Ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple complex priorities- You have the Aability to work in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment- You have the ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with the business, peers, and a wide variety of stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Risk Management, Technology, etc.)- You are a Self-starter, able to work independently and take ownership- You are delivery focused, Team player and have excellent work ethic- You have knowledge of CIBC operating policies, standards and organizational structure would be beneficial- Values matter to you.
