Job Summary:
Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance, this position is responsible for providing leadership, monitoring, control and development of the maintenance function while supervising trade's teams within the treatment plants.
The role also requires that all work processes from notification creation through to invoice payments in their area of responsibility are executed to the highest level of quality.
The role is responsible for leading the team towards excellence in maintenance management, asset management, safety, quality management, risk identification, risk treatment and continuous improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervision and support of activities across a diverse group of unionized staff requiring effective performance management, communication, dispute resolution, and negotiation skills in accordance with Corporate Policies and Collective Agreement language and Daily Management Systems.
- Provide leadership, monitoring, control and development of the condition grade improvement strategies and resources to ensure we achieve AM objectives.
- Provide leadership, monitoring, control and development of the equipment obsolescence programs to reduce risk to the reliability, MECP compliance and proactively prevent plant related downtime.
- Create a positive work environment that promotes mutual respect and team development through daily management systems and regular on the job support.
- Participate in the development and delivery of detailed maintenance, safety, reliability and environmental care plans, standard work documents and performance management.
- Lead and support asset acquisition, disposal processes and the development of predictive (PdM) and preventative maintenance (PM) programs by ensuring the accuracy of asset information and knowledge in SAP PM and MM modules.
- Lead the scheduling, monitoring and reviewing of optimum maintenance strategies to reduce life cycle costs and risks while ensuring compliance with all regulation standards across the water & wastewater treatment plants 24/7 operation.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and support all tactical, maintain, repair and operate lifecycle processes to ensure the optimum decisions are made in collaboration with maintenance, operations, plant capital teams and other stakeholders as required.
- Lead and support the continual development, review, and revision of staff performance, polices, long range plans for the Water & Wastewater Treatment divisions.
- Ensuring that all services delivered directly to the residents and businesses of Halton are consistently delivered and respond to customer inquiries and complaints whenever necessary.
- Ensuring Halton's water and wastewater infrastructure is compliant with all applicable legislation and regulations (MOECC/MOL) through the delivery of a dynamic process to plan, undertake, validate, review and improve regulated activities within the division.
- Participating in the rotating oncall standby schedule to ensure 24/7 operations are maintained.
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- A red seal skilled trade certificate of qualification, technical diploma or degree with a minimum of five (5) years' experience supervising a large cross functional Maintenance team in an industrial setting.
- The incumbent must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience related to work planning and control including, planning, scheduling and monitoring of maintenance activities and ensuring performance targets are achieved and coaching teams towards stable performance in alignment with business objectives.
