You can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done and can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.
Your mission at Smith Cameron is to complete production activities for components, parts, unitizations and engineered solutions by in order to manufacture or repair pumps and pump parts.
About the Role:
- Working Under Pressure on Rush or highly complex jobs.
- Complete pump quality control inspections.
- Prepare inspection reports related to Parts and Pump components.
- Prepare recommendation for shop supply purchases.
- Complete machining of parts to drawings or sketches.
- Provide technical support to customers and SCG project teams.
- Complete machine tool and shop equipment maintenance.
- Participate actively in the continuous and quality improvement.
- Ability to work Overtime as required.
- Comfort machining components as per sample.
- Bring forward any safety concerns immediately.
- Help prepare component manufacturing and rework estimates.
- Assist other Shop departments as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Machinist Certification
- 2 Years of pump/rotating equipment experience
- Has experience with tight tolerance, (.0003" to.0005").
- Technical expertise demonstrated through understanding of Lathe, Milling, Boring mill and Shaper a swell as precision measuring tools.
- CNC experience is an asset but is not a must.
- Experience and understanding of WHMIS, WCB, first aid, forklift, material handling and housekeeping is an asset but not a must.
