Psychologist/Psychological Associate
Job Location:
Academic Services Office - 345 Livingstone Street East, Barrie, with travel throughout the school district
Position Type / Hours: 1.0 FTE, 35 hours per week, aligning with school year and school holidays
Effective Date As soon as possible
Rate of Pay:
$112, $115, Psychologist
$80, $102, Psychological Associate
Psychological services in schools may include: behavioural and mental health consultation, administration and interpretation of psychological assessments; programming support, trauma-informed approaches, crisis and threat response, brief counselling of students, participation in school and multi-disciplinary team meetings to support students with complex needs, community liaison as well as provision of professional development for staff.
Travel to multiple school sites will be required.All services are provided under the direction of the Senior Psychologist, to support the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board's vision and mission.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ph.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with declared areas of competency in School, Clinical or both.
- Previous experience working in an educational environment with children and youth
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including technology.
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience providing psychological assessments to children and youth including preparation of psychological assessment reports with diagnostic statements and recommendations, as appropriate.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with a broad range of learning and mental health challenges including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
As a condition of employment, new employees to SMCDSB are required, by legislation, to submit a satisfactory Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
