Project Location:
Bagotville, Quebec


Employment:
This position is approximately a 3 year term with potential for extension and/ or permanent employment.


Your New Role


The QA/QC Coordinator, under the direction of the Project Manager, will primarily be responsible for supporting the coordination of inspections and ensuring the execution of construction activities are compliant with construction quality management system.

This includes managing subcontracts, interfacing with field staff and project stakeholders to plan, execute, and problem solve.


Your Duties
While the QA/QC Coordinator is responsible for a multitude of duties, the main functions include:

  • Ensures compliance with all Sullivan policies and procedures
  • Prepare/coordinate the development of Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) for all construction activities.
  • Ensure that the ITPs are fully implemented, hold and witness points attended, and issues arising resolved expediently
  • Create and implement tradespecific Subcontractor Quality Plans (SQPs) including the identification of high risk and long lead time items
  • Create and complete projectspecific installation checklists
  • Monitor execution of construction activities and assess compliance with respect to the construction quality management plan and Contract specifications
  • Monitor adequate closure of all surveillance issues, quality audit findings, nonconformities, etc.
  • Complete inspections and documentation associated with the receiving of components, products or other jobsite materials
  • Participate in consultant and client walkthroughs and assist with the identification, documentation and closure of deficiencies
  • May need to attend various project meetings including markup, kickoff, monthly cost review, and project progress
  • Reviews and understands contractual obligations
  • Identifies potential risks and supports the Project Manager with risk identification and opportunities on assigned construction projects
  • Ensures positive working relationships and communications with the project owners, consultants, subtrades, and project team
  • Oversees inventory and tracking of ordered materials and equipment
  • Monitors supplier and subtrade performance in terms of Quality throughout the project
  • Assists with overall project closeout documentation including warranties, asbuilt drawings, operations, and maintenance manuals
  • Assists with precommissioning and commissioning
  • Perform other duties as required to support the overall success and profitability of Sullivan

Safety

  • Commits to a high standard of procedural safety and regulatory compliance
  • Communicates and enforces safety standards in conjunction with the Construction Health & Safety Officer

Quality

  • Adheres to all processes and procedures in the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensures the quality of product produced reflects the QMS and The Sullivan Way

What you will need to succeed

  • A University Degree/Diploma in Engineering, or related field of study
  • 35 years of experience in the ICI construction project environment
  • You have a working knowledge of pertinent regulations, codes, and specifications related to the construction industry (an asset)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Sharepoint, Teams) Adobe or Bluebeam
  • Bilingual is an asset (French and English both in verbal and written)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level Government clearance
