Position Title:
Assistant Manager, Shopper Marketing


Reports To:
Manager, Shopper Marketing


Location:
Markham, Ontario (Hybrid Work model)

The Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager will lead national and account specific omni-channel activations for assigned categories/brands and retail partners.

The incumbent will assist in the development of shopper strategy and annual plans, leveraging key brand and retailer priorities and shopper insights to develop breakthrough programs driving profitable growth.

They will collaborate cross functionally across multiple teams (Brand, Sales, Insights, Trade, Category and Finance) to ensure shopper marketing programs are appropriately supporting Canadian strategic initiatives.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY
Strategy and Analytics

  • Assist in the development of annual shopper marketing plans and customer presentations for assigned categories and retailers
  • Collaborate with category management and shopper insights to identify trends and actionable shopper and retailer insights
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of brand and customer key strategies and priorities

Project Management and Execution:

  • Lead development of seamless endtoend execution, including creative, printing, and distribution, of national and account specific programs
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, field teams, and agency partners to execute omnichannel activations with excellence
  • Lead coupon management, including redemption analysis and executing cross category coupon blitz programs
  • Develop and maintain shopper marketing budget, including managing purchase orders, invoice payments and budget reconciliations
  • Develop and manage project timelines and trackers, communicating project progress to key stakeholders
  • Manage legal approval submissions, including creative, contracts and NDAs
  • Track and archive internal and competitive executions, including images of instore POS, flyers and digital creative
Relationship Building

  • Build relationships with key crossfunctional stakeholders, agencies and vendor partners

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma or equivalent experience (Marketing focus an asset)
  • 2+ years of experience in brand marketing, shopper marketing, sales, and/or category management is required
  • Creative and innovative thinker that's results orientated and comfortable challenging the status quo
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and resource needs
  • Experience working with teams, preferably crossfunctional teams
  • Proficiency in both strategic thinking and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently
