Role Description:
The CI Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments.
They will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change by assisting in the development of a lean and continuous improvement methodology.
In this role, you will:
- Work with all departments and employees to identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities.
- Identify, facilitate and implement process improvement projects to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within existing business processes and work with process owners to streamline processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a 'bestinclass' continuous improvement strategy.
- Assist with process development and help deliver CI training workshops.
- Assistant in the development of a database documenting CI lessons learned and best practices.
- Assist with and plan key problemsolving workshops, follow through and track actions with owners to ensure effectiveness of countermeasures implemented.
- Lead change initiatives from beginning to completion ensuring conformance with internal processes and procedures.
- Create, standardize and improve operational training processes.
- Assist CI Manager in rollout and communication of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Mentor others in process improvement tools and techniques.
- Establish metrics to track progress towards goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis and research.
- Work with Engineering team to develop and implement new processes that improve performance or efficiency.
- Contribute to 5S initiatives to ensure improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business.
- Support the Internal Corrective Action process by providing teams with tools and guidance for proper and efficient
- Corrective Action implementations.
You have:
- Required: Post Secondary Technologist diploma or equivalent experience
- Required: 2+ years' experience of proven continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, VSM, 5S, benchmarking, etc.)
- Asset: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Preferred: 2+ years' experience in manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and education of Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience with methods of determining value added and nonvalueadded time during operations.
- Proficiency in problem solving skills and root cause analysis is essential.
- Must have strong time management skills with emphasis on meeting deadlines.
- Highly energetic and assertive with strong leadership skills.
- Excellent, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Hands on and ability to physically assist with making changes with improvements.
- A selfstarter who is productive, takes initiative and seeks opportunities for improvement.
- Strong understanding of data, analytics, computers and MS Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
