Zekelman Industries is searching for a charismatic, self-motivated

Buyer, Indirect Services & Jobsite Support to work for our Z-Modular division in Kitchener, ON. The primary responsibility of the Buyer, Indirect Services & Jobsite Support is to manage the end to end process of setting up subcontracts and executing payments on-time to vendors support plant and jobsite teams. The buyer will research, evaluate, and purchase products & services to meet our operational requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Source, quote, and purchase indirect services and supplies to support a fastmoving modular construction environment
Work directly with vendors to communicate orders and maintain payment schedules
Ensure subcontractors and servicebased vendors are setup in the ERP system for payment, create POs for servicebased contracts, and work with Project Manager team to pay key subcontractors / vendors ontime
Determine the correct method to process purchase requisitions depending on total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and existing contracts
Maintain close communication with Project Managers ensuring payments are made ontime and are accurate to the budgeted value
Resolve invoice issues and maintain open order reports on a weekly basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

Regular, fulltime, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
Immediately report suspected security incidents and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Remain in stationary position for the majority of the day.
Occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
Ability to lift up to 10lbs
Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Previous experience purchasing indirect services or jobsite experience desired
Bachelor's Degree Preferred, Preferably in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Distribution, or related area of study
Previous exposure to SAP and/or similar ERP procurement platforms preferred
Ability to work with Z-Modular's team across the country
