A Day in the Life:

PRT is currently recruiting a part time seasonal Forest Tree Seedling Production Worker to assist with the many different aspects of nursery responsibilities. As an integral member of the nursery team, the Tree Seedling Production Worker carries out activities related to the receiving and unloading of forest seedling boxes from transport trucks into and out of the cold storage. This engaging, high paced, physical position offers a safe work environment and an opportunity for a career that will make a positive change in the world. Candidates should have a desire and keenness to learn about the forest seedling nursery activities, work independently and efficiently. No experience required; full training provided.

Key accountabilities of the Tree Seedling Production Worker

• Shipping and Receiving
• Transportation of seedling boxes from transport trucks on to storage pallets for transfer into cold storage
• Record and inventory keeping
• Continuous focus on safety, injury prevention, and customer service in all aspects of work

About the team:

The Tree Seedling Production Worker will work alongside nursery workers under the supervision of the Nursery Lead and report to the Nursery Manager.

Required/Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

• Reliable transportation
• Appropriate work attire
• Good manual dexterity and eyesight
• Team-oriented personality with a positive attitude
• Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to quality and safety

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

• Forklift certification and experience
