Position Summary:

The Royal Ottawa Golf Club has an exciting opportunity for a Short Order Cook to join the Royal team. The Short Order Cook will act as a key member of the Kitchen Team.

Reporting to the SousChef & Chef, the Short Order Cook will be responsible quickly and accurately delivering on routine Kitchen deliverables.

The Short Order Cook plays a key role within the Kitchen team as they passionately prepare and serve food.

The Short Order Cook is primarily responsible for ensuring a quick and efficient response to kitchen needs. The position requires an immense work ethic, professionalism, enjoys working in a team. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for a fast-paced work environment. Good communication, cleanliness, and organizational skills are also required.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the preparation of routine kitchen deliverables;
Clean and maintain Kitchen facilities, equipment and utensils as necessary;
Offers input for tray services menus, sandwiches and salads;
Responsible for presenting food and consistently exceeding Club service standards;
Inspect deliveries for quality and weight prior to acceptance
Buffet runner and stocker: Responsible for banquet prep (Salads, veg platters, finger sandwiches)
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Availability to make a large variety of dishes from entrees to sandwiches, and able to prepare salads and sandwich mixtures, presenting them as specials;
Knowledge of doneness levels for sausage, pork, hamburgers, steak, hotdogs and chicken;
Ability to safely work a barbecue;
Knowledge of common kitchen sanitary procedures;
Knife skills are an asset
Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

Salary details:
