Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. On-site work takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Working for the Department of Biomedical Engineering

Position Summary

Duties

Working on lab projects; Reading literature and examining and testing published software code (on GitHub, etc).
Managing allocations and jobs on Digital Research Alliance of Canada clusters.
Managing the site license for the Molecular Operating Environment software.
Monitoring lab funding accounts by checking on eTRAC that the expenses reported on lab speed codes are correct; creating budgets for lab expenses.
Assisting Dr. Arminpour with creating course materials and setting up content on eClass.

Qualifications

Computer Systems Technology Diploma with 3 years experience working in a bioinformatics and drug design lab. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Strong skills and experience in quantitative data analysis; knowledge of Python required.
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
Able to perform searches on databases, websites, etc. to support project activities; experience with literature reviews.
Demonstrated attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Excellent spelling, grammar, editing, and proof reading skills.
Keeps up to date on research, leading practices, and trends in the specialty disciplines.
