Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. On-site work takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Position Summary

Duties

  • Working on lab projects; Reading literature and examining and testing published software code (on GitHub, etc).
  • Managing allocations and jobs on Digital Research Alliance of Canada clusters.
  • Managing the site license for the Molecular Operating Environment software.
  • Monitoring lab funding accounts by checking on eTRAC that the expenses reported on lab speed codes are correct; creating budgets for lab expenses.
  • Assisting Dr. Arminpour with creating course materials and setting up content on eClass.

Qualifications

  • Computer Systems Technology Diploma with 3 years experience working in a bioinformatics and drug design lab. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong skills and experience in quantitative data analysis; knowledge of Python required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
  • Able to perform searches on databases, websites, etc. to support project activities; experience with literature reviews.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, editing, and proof reading skills.
  • Keeps up to date on research, leading practices, and trends in the specialty disciplines.
