JOB SUMMARY:


Hospitality Services is responsible for the planning, coordinated development, management and implementation of food, nutrition and environmental activities, programs, services and initiatives to the residents of a municipal long term care facility.


You are responsible for the direction and supervision of the Food Service Staff serving meals to residents and the operation of the dish room, with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of 2 year college program in Food and Nutrition Management
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a kitchen setting

Recognized professional status as an active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management of registration as a dietitian by the College of Dietitians of Ontario


KNOWLEDGE:


  • Computer programs related to resident care and staffing
  • Principles of direct supervision
  • Dish room procedures and equipment
  • Dining room service and Cafeteria service
  • Food service work units & interrelated services
  • The "Public Health Act & Safety Act" of Ontario; Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 202
  • Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures legislation and City
