The opportunity
The position is responsible for providing comprehensive executive-level support to the VP, Programming & Content.

The position acts as point of contact between the VP, Programming & Content and other executive offices, the leadership management team, and internal and external stakeholders.

Given the varied nature and pace of the work environment, the position requires an experienced EA adept at assessing and managing priorities and who is highly organized, digitally literate, and self-directed.

Management of internal and external communication Information and time management, planning activities, report, presentation, and other duties to support as required


How you will make an impact

  • Keep VP appraised of emerging issues and activities, particularly those reflective of strategic initiative and directions
  • Monitor requests made by internal and external partners and follows up as appropriate
  • Prepare VP for internal/external meetings Calendar management, managing flow of information, prioritizing issues, managing files Generate reports and presentations as required (i.e. monthly Executive
  • Management Committee report, TVO Look Ahead Calendar, performance agreements, multiyear planning, etc.)
  • Prepare requisitions, purchase orders (EWA-Employee Web Apps) and receive/inspect shipments and/or services Participate in weekly Programming & Content meetings, bringing forward any operational issues
  • Create and/or modify processes to enable efficient flow of communication and flow of work
  • Exercise high level of ethics, confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information Prepare travel requests for VP, Programming & Content along with itineraries
  • Monitor/record vacation requests for direct reports of VP, Programming & Content Scan relevant trade publications for pertinent industry intel to keep VP, Programming & Content and management team current on trends (i.e. Neiman Lab, Poynter, Current, Cartt, etc.)
  • Anticipate needs of VP, Programming & Content and respond proactively to deal with upcoming events and internal requests, ensuring all deadlines are met

What you will bring to TVO

  • Postsecondary education (University degree or postsecondary diploma) is preferred
  • Several years of progressively responsible experience in providing executive level support
  • Expert knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, the internet,
- working knowledge of EWA (Employee Web Apps) or similar program an understanding of financial data and annual business planning activities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; high degree of accuracy, to copy edit and draft language
  • Proven ability to think proactively and work independently in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, both internal and external, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to be nimble in the face of changing priorities Excellent planning and organizational skills with pro
