Job Description:

Keypath Education is searching for a Web Development Manager to join our Instructional Services / Course Development team.

The Web Development Manager will work in tandem with the Vice President of Product and Instructional Technologies to build and manage a high-performance team of front-end web developers, web designers, and full-stack developers for whom he or she will provide creative and technical direction.

This person also will help to oversee the product roadmap and quality assurance initiatives of the web development department.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the hiring and managing of the Keypath Web Development team, including
  • Onboarding
  • Enrichment, training, support, and goal setting
  • Technical mentoring
  • Task prioritization and guidance
  • Conduct performance reviews and tailor training to fill individual skill gaps
  • Review code for accuracy, functionality, documentation, and improvement
  • Willing to regularly attend global meetings with UK, AUS during nonbusiness North American hours.
  • Conduct security reviews
  • Assist VP in planning product roadmap and communicating milestone updates to stakeholders
  • Guide architecture decisions with product team
  • Facilitate communication between developers and instructional designers
  • Lead investigative dialogs with university IT teams during launch; direct IT timeline of partner launches, ensuring proper access and a smooth setup of learning management systems (LMS) and server environments
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and code conflicts in partner learning management systems; serve as an emergency contact (tier 3 support) for triage of critical partner issues
  • Manage workflow of projects and set development priorities; ensure proper workflow processes are followed and verify task completion
  • Manage vendors, process payments, and track budgets
  • Ensure the WD team is establishing and adhering to best practices for UX and graphic design
  • Research and remain vigilant on adherence to WCAG standards
  • Facilitate meetings, clarify processes, brainstorm solutions, and assist in conflict resolution
  • Lead technical design on new products and major product components
  • Support initiatives of the KP team through dialog with the Instructional Services leadership team

Qualifications:


Education:
a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, educational/instructional technology, computer engineering, IT, or a related field of study

Technical Skills:


  • Confidently codes with HTML5, CSS via SCSS, JavaScript and frameworks like jQuery
  • Is experienced building asynchronous javascript in the browser and
  • Can use frontend controller frameworks like VUE and React and design patterns like MVC
  • Has advanced knowledge of design, setup, and optimization of relational databases (MySQL or equivalent)
  • Has experience building NoSQL databases (MongoDB or equivalent)
  • Optimizes code and images to perform well in browser
  • Practices good GIT workflow and branching model on all project
  • Has launched and can maintain environments in AWS (S3, EC2, EBS, SMS) or similar providers
  • Understands OWASP top 10
  • Understands OO design patterns, such as Factory, Adaptor, Composite, and Strategy
  • Is confident using Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator in particular
  • Expertly utilizes full stack caching approaches
  • Is familiar with LTI or integration approaches with Blackboar
