    Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Light Vehicle Supervisor at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

    Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

    Light Vehicle Supervisor

    Location

    Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

    Summary

    Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Light Vehicle Supervisor is an integral part of the Mine Maintenance team playing a key role in supervising all light vehicle maintenance activities, including all pickup, bus, small support equipment, and service truck fleets. The position will involve maintenance planning, scheduling, and supervision of maintenance activities for the above fleets.

    Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with WorkSafe BC, Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC, and Copper Mountain Mine's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),
  • Supervise and oversee all activities of the light vehicle technicians,
  • Performs all planning, scheduling, ordering of parts for the light vehicles, buses, and service trucks,
  • Investigate and execute ways to improve mechanical availability and lower maintenance costs on the light vehicle fleet,
  • Establishes methods to meet work schedules and coordinates work activities with other departments,
  • Completes performance evaluations on direct reports and provides regular feedback,
  • Assist in the preparation of annual maintenance and capital budgets,
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the role as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Education & Experience

  • Red Seal Trades Certification,
  • Current BC Mine Supervisor Certificate,
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of varied maintenance experience with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role,
  • Good computer skills including Google Workspace,
  • Previous experience with Maximo is an asset,
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license.

  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
  • Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with frequent exposure to Maintenance Shops, Field Maintenance and Mine Operations areas,
  • Team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
  • Work includes manual dexterity to use desktop computers and peripheral devices,
  • Working outside exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Rate of Pay

    $120k - $134k / annum
