Facilitation and/or delivery of various interventions and activities for offenders with mental health needs.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the court.

CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience* intervening with people in crisis

Experience* working with people who experience mental health issues and/or problematic behaviours

Experience* in offering behaviour modification skills development

Defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the

duties within the last 5 years, including any work placements.

EDUCATION

Completion of a two year post-secondary diploma (or three year Cegep diploma) with specialization in one of the following areas: social work, behavioural science technology, social services work, mental health, addictions, psycho education; or in a field related to the duties of the position.

Experience working with inmates with mental health needs
Experience working with Indigenous inmates or inmates from other ethonocultural groups
Experience working with offenders in a correctional environment (institutional or community)
Experience working with individuals who are at risk for self-injurious or suicidal behavior
