Purpose of Job:
The Technical Business Analyst Specialist will lead and be responsible for the effective analysis, design, development, implementation of trade reporting in order for Scotiabank's compliance with OTC Derivatives Reforms such as Dodd Frank / CFTC, EMIR and similar rules in Canada, and Asia.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Strong technical knowledge on systems and infrastructure in order to lead the design of reporting initiatives.
- Contribute to projects being on schedule and meeting regulatory reporting requirements.
- Identify user requirements by working with a number of key individuals from the business and IT, producing highlevel business requirements and liaising with development to take these through to a detailed functional specification.
- Follow the Software Development Life Cycle methodology and prepare test plan and test cases for IST testing
- Manage business testing through the quality assurance team for key projects.
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in all regions.
Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies:
- The incumbent must possess very good interpersonal and strong communication skills in order to effectively lead and work with end users and members of the team. The incumbent is expected to use diplomacy, judgement and persuasion to secure agreement and cooperation from departments involved in a project.
- Have knowledge of OTC derivatives products and related regulations
- Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment
- Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and standards, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Experience of managing projects that span change in multiple frontoffice systems and teams
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.
- Background in client onboarding processes/procedures preferable
- Understanding of regulations and implementation of regulations
- Understanding Operational policy, procedures and control implications as a result of the regulation
Education and Other Requirements:
- A recognized undergraduate degree in business, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of Python
- Working knowledge of Agile Project Management, Risk Management and Change Management skills
- Working knowledge of FpmL/XML, SQL, JIRA, Confluence is an asset.
