- Demonstrated foundation in counselling evidence-based modalities and approaches including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Family Counselling methods.

Description
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience
Master's Degree in a health or human services related field of study, including counselling content from an approved post-secondary institution. Five (5) years of recent experience in a counselling role with youth where substance use and/or mental health is a major issue. An equivalent level of education, training and experience may be considered.
Understanding of alcohol and drug issues relating to youth, substance use assessments, treatment methodologies, strength-based case management, intervention strategies, the change process, and community dynamics.Knowledge of and experience with a range of emotional, behavioral and mental health issues specific to the youth and family population. Knowledge, skill and experience with individual, family and group counselling.
Eligible for registration with a relevant/applicable professional association.
