TransitNext M&R is a wholly owned subsidiary of SNC Lavalin O&M.

TransitNext has been awarded a 27-year contract to maintain the Trillium Line, the newly extended diesel rail transit system in Ottawa designated as Lines 2 and 4.

The Performance Analyst & System Administrator will report to the Maintenance Director.


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Compile and present data based upon daily operating performance, in conjunction with TNext M&R's corporate objectives and contractual Key Performance Measurements (KPM's).
  • Evaluation of Maintenance Management System/Performance Reporting System (MMS/PRS) data, based upon established KPMs, and reconciling and interpreting this data for utilization in daily and monthly performance reporting.
  • Responsible for the timely and effective production of a variety of monthly, quarterly, and annual operational summary reports.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement overall quality and performance improvement initiatives to support TNext M&R management.
  • Be the main point of contact for analytical needs relating to the MMS/PRS system, with ability to mine the data, interpret and formulate conclusions.
  • Assist TNext M&R managers with understanding of KPM's and their applicability to failure events.
  • Interprets information obtained from MMS/PRS reports to assess failure cause and accuracy of corrective measures.

  • Add new users, as required, and configure user's system access corresponding to their role and function within the organization.
  • Update and edit system embedded reference tables to ensure accuracy of performance reporting.
  • Implement screen configuration changes for improved user experience and input/output accuracy.
  • Ensure the asset register is maintained; correct or update existing asset records, add new asset records and delete obsolete assets.
  • Continuously monitor system performance and function of interfaces with other systems (eg. Signals &Train Control System interface); Urgently supervise the effort to correct any identified system performance issues.
  • Support the development of system improvements; testing any system changes, evaluating results, and ensuring any issues are corrected prior to system implementation.
  • Ensure Cyber Security and other IT policies and procedures are enforced and maintained.
  • Provide instruction and technical assistance to TNext M&R staff in their use of MMS/PRS.
  • Ensures asset records in MMS/PRS system reconcile to asset records in the Configuration Management database.
  • Updates Configuration Management database when assets within the system infrastructure are changed, due to Engineering design change, component model obsolescence, or serialized component changeout.
  • Adhere to CTSM's polices and procedures, including safety practices and health & safety policies.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Education:


  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Logistics or Engineering Technology.
  • Previous experience in understanding and determining business KPMs and metrics.
  • Proven quantitative and analytical skills as well as strategic problemsolving skills, including collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced data filters, and Look Up functions, as well as working experience with other analytics technologies; MS Office Suite and Internet Explorer in a Windows environment; Working knowledge of database SQL query design.
  • Familiarity with Signals and Train Control and SCADA systems is cons
