As the Intermediate Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations, you'll have the chance to lead and direct the A shift operation in the Cartridge Assembly area.


What You'll Do

  • You will sustain and continuously improve results for People Safety, Product Safety and Efficient Productivity in order of priority to drive positive business results.
  • Provide leadership to the Operations Team to ensure alignment of Ottawa Manufacturing Excellence with Division long and shortterm goals.
  • Prepare, organize, prioritize, and allocate workload among team members according to business needs.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and development opportunities for staff. Conduct performance appraisals and make recommendations regarding staffing, hiring, retention, promotion, salary adjustments, discipline, and dismissal to senior management.
  • Responsible for conducting daily huddles and completing shift report. Responsible for monitoring departmental metrics and drive to achieve or exceed expectations.
  • Responsible for communication of departmental procedures and ensuring team members understand their roles and follow procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding customer needs and providing superior customer service in a timely manner.
  • Recommend and implement productivity improvements and process changes.
  • Develop training plans to ensure 100% compliance to training requirements.
  • Motivate employees through interpersonal interactions on a regular basis, fostering creativity, innovation, and empowerment. Promote a positive and professional work environment.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure Operations are compliant with quality guidelines. Ensure that corrective action is taken in a timely fashion for any operational nonconformance.
  • Accountable for recording vacation, time off and or any additional information in the appropriate software systems for all staff.
  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure that safety policies and procedures are observed.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as may be required.

Shift:


  • 4X4 A Shift Extended, rotating four days on four days off from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree or a
  • College Diploma (3 years program) or
  • Equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 36 years relevant work experience.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to lead, train and motivate employees.
  • Ability to continuously improve upon safety, quality, and performance.
  • Ability to make decisions with sound judgment and execute on decisions with quantifiable results.
  • Ability to deal with and resolve conflict and lead efforts to resolve situations.
  • Ability to convey communications clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Strong organization, time, and project management skills.
  • Engineering education will be considered a strong asset.
