About the role
We're looking for an
Underwriter I, Personal Lines to join our growing Nordic Insurance team


What you'll do here:


  • Assess and evaluate automobile insurance policy risks for Facility Association
  • Process, underwrite and authorize the acceptance of new business, renewals, cancellations and endorsements
  • Review supporting claims reports and legal background
  • May provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to Underwriting Assistants
  • May provide training and information sessions
  • Answering inquiries and making recommendations to agents through verbal and written correspondence
  • Write summaries regarding overall results

What you bring to the table:


  • University degree, college diploma, or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Previous experience an asset
  • Insurance Professional (CIP) designation completed or in progress an asset
  • Must demonstrate strong problemsolving skills and critical thinking
  • Must be able to interpret policy wording and legal documents
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building abilities
  • Demonstrated efficiency and strong timemanagement skills to meet competing productivity
