Vice President, Business Management


What is the opportunity?


The position will work as part of RBC Capital Markets' Client and Marketing Strategy Group (CMS) on the strategic development, implementation and execution of marketing tactics that support a broad range of RBC Capital Markets (RBC CM) businesses around the globe.


What will you do?
Responsible for overall operational management of a global team including but not limited to:

  • Working closely with CMS leaders and Finance, responsible for the annual planning and tracking of CMS marketing, brand and operational spend, including:
  • CMS Operational Budget
  • CMS Brand Plans and Budgets
  • Working closely with the Supplier Enablement and Procurement teams, oversight and management of onboarding and engagement of CMS' third party suppliers and contractors
  • Working with CMS leaders and our functional business partners to create and implement departmental process, policy, frameworks and management materials
  • Responsible for the monthly compliance WORM (Write Once Read Many) marketing materials retention process
  • Coordinate and report, monthly and quarterly, on a series of KPIs that reflect the impact of the CMS group to Senior Leadership and across the business
  • Interface with internal and external business partners and vendors to meet mutual objectives on projects and initiatives of varying complexity
  • Prepare, process and track all marketing and operational invoices
  • Work closely with the VP of Corporate Citizenship to strategically spend Capital Markets annual donations budget
  • Special projects
  • Key RBC project partners include Finance, Supplier Enablement, Digital Technology, Procurement, Compliance, Legal, Business Continuity Management, Accounts Payable

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree/college diploma
  • A minimum of 8 years' work experience in business management or operations in a corporate environment
  • Superior organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Knowledge of project management methodology
  • Proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to work with people of varying levels of seniority
  • MS Office with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills and experience with MS Project software

Nice to have

  • Experience working in the financial services industry
  • Experience working with financial reporting
