Summary


Overall Function:


The F&B Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities within the Food & Beverage Division, mainly Feast + Revel restaurant, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction.


Main Duties:


  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of servers, restaurant bartenders, barista, food runners, and greeters
  • Order alcohol and keep an up to date inventory
  • Ensure efficient and smooth service delivery during meal periods and special events.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining and service areas.
  • Train and mentor staff on service standards, product knowledge, and customer service.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for the Food & Beverage Division.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and culinary team to ensure timely and accurate food service.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of dining areas for events and regular service.
  • Conduct regular briefings and meetings with staff to communicate important information and updates.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment, submitting orders as needed.

Administrative Duties:


  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, hours worked, and breaks.
  • Assist in the preparation of tips reports as well as reports related to sales, guest feedback, and operational performance.

Health and Safety:


  • Follow and ensure all employees follow safety procedures and practices.
  • Adhere to Food & Beverage departmental Emergency Procedures/Safety Manual.
  • Have an active Smart Serve certification and adhere to all food safety protocols.

Financial Responsibilities:


  • Assist in controlling costs and expenses within the Food & Beverage Division.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize profitability.

Employee Relations:


  • Foster positive relationships with all Food & Beverage and hotel departments.
  • Provide guidance and support to frontline staff, addressing performance and training needs.

Other Duties:


  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events and promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling standards.
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • To report for duty punctually wearing the prescribed uniform standards and name tag.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and food safety hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
  • To read the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  • To comply with Ontario and Ottawa legislation
  • To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
  • To be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by F&B leadership

Qualifications:


  • Hours: Flexible and long shifts; scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fastpaced environment.
  • Minimum one year of previous supervisory experience in a restaurant/hotel and a thorough understanding of fine dining service will be preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 20 lbs); talk and hear.

Medium work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or 20 lbs of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
