    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 703/704 Captain transports thousands of passengers each year. As a pilot, your number one priority is to conduct each flight safely, taking into consideration the comfort of each passenger and on-time performance.

  • Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Conduct flights with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and the Company Operations Manual
  • Preflight Calculations not limited to:
  • Completing the Operational Flight Plan
  • Weather
  • NOTAMs
  • Fuel and oil requirements
  • Weight and balance
  • Signing and accepting the Manifest
  • Ensure that the aeroplane pre-flight inspection is completed before each departure
  • Load, unload and secure cargo and freight as required
  • Ensure passengers are briefed in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Complete flight watch (Type C)
  • Ensure that all post flight duties are completed, including post flight aeroplane inspection, notification/confirmation to the Company of the whereabouts of the aeroplane when away from base, recording flight times and any defects
  • Continue to meet and exceed the Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Commercial Pilot License
  • Category 1 Medical
  • Current Group 1 Instrument Rating
  • ATPL with 500 hours on Metros
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • Pilots must be fluent in English, and be able to demonstrate effective verbal and listening comprehension
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
  • Working Conditions

  • Physically able to perform all listed job duties
  • Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to travel for extended periods
