KAY-SON Steel Fabricators Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an experienced
Operations Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for shop employees, production and efficiency, and to ensure the plant is running smoothly, efficiently and safely.

The successful incumbent must possess a good understanding of metal fabrication and demonstrate strong team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure product quality meets established standards
Provide leadership and guidance to plant employees, leads by example
Responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of employees
Ensure operational efficiency, and establishes and maintains customer focus for employees
Ensure that all employees are compliant with the plants policies
Manage the upkeep of plant and equipment maintenance
Working with other departments to ensure that production and delivery are coordinate
Responsible for customer order deadlines
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure production and delivery are well coordinated
Manage and identifies resource needs of the plant, such as raw materials and capital projects
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
Work proactively to prevent recurrence of operational and mechanical problems
Ensure Worksafe BC and CWB compliance

Qualifications

10 years of "HANDS-ON" structural and misc steel fabrication experience
5 years experience as plant manager in metal fabrication facility with 30+ employees
Qualified CWB Welding Supervisor under CSA Standard W47.1 and W5
Strong technical knowledge
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement techniques
Knowledge of safety and environmental systems and procedures
Excellent English communication skills written and verbal
Ability to interface with customers, staff, and community
Superior planning and time management skills, results driven and able to multitask effectively
Strong leadership skills ability to lead and motivate staff, conflict resolution skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills

This position is a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week.
