The Co-op Student, IT position will report to the Director, NPK Digital Transformation. This is a 4-16-month term starting in May 2023 (with potential for a flexible start date).

Within Saskatoon Corporate Office the Potash Business Unit, we have multiple opportunities to gain valuable experience in the field of IDS (Information and Digital Solutions) at several of our Saskatchewan locations.

What you will do:

IT Analyst:

Provide IT technical support to Nutrien users
Hardware & software deployment, management, and support
Learn advanced Cisco networking, VMWare & Microsoft systems administration
Support innovative IT projects in mining

Digital Solution Development:

Work with operations stakeholders to understand issues/ideas for improvement and develop requirements
Create and test solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerAutomate, PowerApps, SharePoint and MS Forms)
Train users on the solutions
Document and maintain solutions in use

Data Science:

Leverage responsive React front ends, leading serverless technologies (such as Lambda and DynamoDB) and microservicebased architectures
Work with cutting edge hardware and cloud technologies to deploy the algorithms within our operations

What you will bring:

Must be currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Technology, MIS, Data Science, Business Analysis or equivalent degree/diploma program from an accredited postsecondary institution
Demonstrated positive safety behaviour and safety leadership
Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
Motivation to set and achieve goals, take initiative, and nurture projects forward
Selfstarter with the ability to take initiative and nurture projects forward
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
