Experienced forklift operator (nice to have)


Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and on your feet throughout the shift.

You have reliable transportation to get to work on time. Carpooling is NOT a reliable transportation.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Abides by the companies Health and Safety policies and GMP policies.
  • Know and abide by the HACCP program with regard to shipping, receiving, transportation and storage.
  • Make sure that the pallet jacks, forklifts and stackers are in good mechanical condition by filling out Pallet Jack Pre-Operational Inspection before operating.
  • Help others when they may be in a difficult situation.
  • Report any breakdowns or malfunctioning of equipment.
  • Maintain neat and clean working areas, picking up cardboard, twine, paper and other debris.
  • Clean up any spills immediately and notify supervisor of the spill.
  • Follow SSOP Shipping and Receiving Docks-Exterior yard to clean docks and exterior as required.
  • Follow Trailer Inside Surfaces and Roll Up Doors Cleaning Procedure to clean the trailers and record on Trailer Cleaning Record.
  • Assist in other shipping and receiving duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Before moving a pallet with product, ensure that it has been securely tied so that it will not tip over. Make adjustments if necessary.
  • Communicate with drivers to chock the wheels and turn off the engine of the truck before loading and unloading. Do not load or unload the trailer until performing Dock Procedure for Drivers and obtaining the signed copy of the document.

RECEIVING

  • In most cases, receiving will consist of the unloading of farm eggs being returned to the plant. Equipment consists of skids, wire baskets, and empty carts.
  • When a trailer is unloaded, an unloading report is to be filled out by the shipper/receiver stating what came back on the trailer.
  • When unloading farm trailers, a temperature check will be performed by the receiver and the information will be recorded on the Receiving Inspection Form.
  • When a trailer is unloaded, it must be washed out when needed and Trailers Cleaning Record needs to be completed.
