Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent. Current Facilities Mechanic Certificate of Qualification is required

Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for minor preventative maintenance and servicing to various building systems.


Primary Job Accountabilities

  • Perform duties of a Facilities Mechanic in Ontario.
  • Performs maintenance including cleaning and filter replacement on fan coil units.
  • Change filters and filter media in fans or ducting. o Clean and maintain air diffusers.
  • Execute preventative maintenance and inspections as per the prescribed schedule and as appropriate to level and training.
  • Inspect and document building components for compliance to operating parameters (e.g. Fire extinguishers, drinking fountains, etc.)

General Accountabilities

  • Operates within established security and safety regulations.
  • Remains knowledgeable and current with certificate requirements through participation in courses, instructional seminars and trade shows as required and/or sponsored by the University.
  • Communicates with fellow workers, faculty, students, staff and visitors in an appropriate and effective manner.
  • In a position of trust, perform job assignments in an efficient and effective manne
