Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent. Current Facilities Mechanic Certificate of Qualification is required

3 years of related experience, inclusive of apprenticeship requirements.

Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for minor preventative maintenance and servicing to various building systems.

Primary Job Accountabilities

Perform duties of a Facilities Mechanic in Ontario.
Performs maintenance including cleaning and filter replacement on fan coil units.
Change filters and filter media in fans or ducting. o Clean and maintain air diffusers.
Execute preventative maintenance and inspections as per the prescribed schedule and as appropriate to level and training.
Inspect and document building components for compliance to operating parameters (e.g. Fire extinguishers, drinking fountains, etc.)

General Accountabilities

Operates within established security and safety regulations.
Remains knowledgeable and current with certificate requirements through participation in courses, instructional seminars and trade shows as required and/or sponsored by the University.
Communicates with fellow workers, faculty, students, staff and visitors in an appropriate and effective manner.
In a position of trust, perform job assignments in an efficient and effective manne
