Position Information:

Join our team as an Epic Analyst in the Health Information System (HIS) Department


The HIS Department is responsible for the continuing and ongoing support of patient safety and care through maintaining and improving the Atlas Alliance¿s Epic Health Information System.

The Atlas Alliance is a partnership of 10 Ontario healthcare institutions sharing one Epic HIS.

The vision of the HIS Department is to continue to support and upgrade our integrated health information management system and increase the quality and safety of care, enhancing both the patient and provider experience now and for generations to come.

Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What you will do:


  • Identify and analyze organizational needs by gathering information from end users, defining scope and objectives, and making recommendations for solutions
  • Understand the Epic software system and how to build/configure it to meet the needs of end users
  • Provide second level support for all various clinical modalities including issue triage and resolutions
  • Application troubleshooting, reporting and tracking issues/solutions with vendors/clients

What you will bring:


  • University degree and/or college plus equivalent experience in a relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in Information Systems including previous experience in project management (other healthcarebased experience may also be considered);
  • Experience leading components in the implementation of small to medium scale systems and solution design;
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and decisionmaking skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills;
  • Experience in documenting and communicating processes and procedures;
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with team members;
  • Ability to prioritize a large number of requests;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word);
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

You will stand out with:


  • Valid Epic certification;
  • Experience working in a large healthcare organization;
  • Experience developing and implementing standardized policies/procedures/protocols;
  • Experience with configuring computer systems, creating reports (SQL, Crystal Reports, etc.), and/or working in a programming environment;
  • Experience with quality assurance of clinical systems;
  • Proficiency in English and French, oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
