This is a rotational program that is offered to recent graduates who identify as First Nations, Nations, Métis, or Inuit.

The program provides the opportunity for the individual to acquire invaluable work experience, develop professional skills, and gain exposure in the First Nations healthcare organization.


Title:
Indigenous New Graduate Trainee, IT

Salary:
$44,571 - $55,714 - $61,286 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: 1 Year Term - Hybrid (50% in office)

Hours: 37.5 Hours, Monday - Friday (core hours 9am - 3pm)

Location:
Alberni Office, Downtown - Hybrid (Minimum 50% in office)


About the role
The position works under the guidance of a supervisor to provide support in the assigned area/team/First Nations Community.

The duties and responsibilities may include development of communication/documentation, research, project coordination and management, administration and coordination, and other duties related to day-to-day team/project/program operations.


About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be

  • Completion of postgraduate certificate, diploma, or degree program

Occupational Certification

  • In process of completion or willing to obtain certification in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Foundations v3 or above
  • In the process of completion or willing to obtain certifications in MS Office products, MS SharePoint
  • In process of completion of Project Management certification, such as enrolment in CAPM or PMP would be an asset

You may have experience in;

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with MS Project and Visio would be an asset
  • Experience related to information systems, technology and databases would be an asset
  • Experience with processes in a business environment, considered an asset
  • Experience running SQL queries, considered an asset

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.

Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.


As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021.

We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
