Description

Valsoft Corporation is looking for an extremely self-motivated Tax Analyst Intern to assist the Senior Tax Analyst at Valsoft to manage the centralized tax functions of the Canadian parent and all its subsidiaries.

Valsoft Corporation focuses on growing and acquiring vertical software businesses that provide mission-critical solutions within multiple niche-markets.

What your day will look like:

  • Assist in preparing the working papers for the US and Canadian tax returns of the Valsoft group
  • Assist in preparing T1134s and T106s forms for all our subsidiaries
  • Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency, Revenue Québec and IRS on any tax issues
  • Assist in the documentation of transfer pricing policies and legal documentation relating to tax transactions
  • Coordinate the US Sales tax remittances and GL reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions
  • Assist in income and indirect tax audits
  • Prepare and file GST/QST/HST returns
  • Coordinate claims for tax credits and analyze eligibility
  • Provide tax support for the various business units in Canada, USA, and Europe

About You:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related filed or DEP
  • 12 years of experience in accounting or tax
  • Strong computer skills with a high level of competence in Excel is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
  • Proficiency in French is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • A positive attitude and desire to excel and grow professionally
