Alcon Canada is looking for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Facilities Manager.

The HSE/Facilities Manager is the local lead for the overall management, oversight and execution of Health and Safety and Facilities Management for the Canadian affiliate, ensuring compliance and adherence to legislative and Corporate HSE requirements and programs including promoting and supporting a safety culture at Alcon.

In addition to managing facility needs, also manages third party contracts to ensure the integrity of corporate local business goals and objectives.

Major Accountabilities:


HSE- Manage and act as local SPOC on all HSE initiatives such as Ergonomics plan and model oversight and management.- Act as lead in promoting a safety culture within Alcon Canada with a focus on education and building engagement.- Chair and represent as management member of Joint Health and Safety Committee ensuring legislative and audit requirements are met and maintained including JHSE training, first aid training and maintenance of certifications.- Lead management reviews as required and prescribed.- Participate and lead as required on Compliance audits every 3 years.- Participate in Corporate audits every 4 years.- Participate / lead ISO certification surveillance audits every two years/Annually.- .COVID-19 Provincial reporting and case management as required- Site Wellness committee participation and engagement.- Pandemic and other ACM related activities, execution of programs and project management.

Facilities- Day to day management of facilities and all third party services ( for eg. JLL) with the purpose of ensuring all Corporate standards, GMP, corporate compliance and sourcing requirements are met.- Act as Alcon security champion/facilitator to ensure the 24 hours premise and building security is intact.- Overall management of JLL outsourced facility services - which include established budget baselines, training of third party processes ie: work order requests, and building projects as assigned.- Ensure all physical aspects of the properties are maintained to uphold Corporate image and ensure systems fully functional,, cleanliness of the building and physical upgrades of a 159,100 sq.

foot facility.- As Alcon site Security Champion/Facilitator and on site administrator ensure management of Security System, on call for the site 24/7 as well maintaining security database and issuance of employee access cards, terminations and development of policies and procedures based on Global requirements.- Manage, develop and maintain all space planning requirements which includes internal employee moves, new hire requirements mapping and floor plans.- Management of all JLL out of scope requirements when deemed necessary.- Management of Document Center and third party contract provider, this includes managing the contract provider, monthly update meetings, quarterly reviews, process improvements, cost saving initiatives, related office equipment for print shop and fleet.- Grand & Toy — Key contact for the management for Global Office supply contract for Alcon Canada.- Equipment - Office Services Equipment /print optimization- Ensure various training for any online training tools ie: Grand & Toy, JCL, Document center.- Business continuity planning lead.- Manage the development and execution of annual budgets (RFS) for Operations capital and expense.- Responsible for the sites annual CapEx projects, including needs analysis with local and North American stakeholders, budget submission, administrative work (PO's/CAR's/Cash Flow) associated with the CapEx submissions and budget tracking, and local management and oversight of the site CapEx projects to ensure they are delivered within the agreed upon milestones and timelines.- Creation and management of all PO's related to Operations activity.


Requirements:


  • Education: University Degree or College Diploma preferably in Business Administration, Commerce, Science.
  • In addition to above education requirements, past participation as management member of JHSC and strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
