This Full-time two-year term position with extension possibility and includes teaching in the Highwood dining room which operates from Tuesday to Friday lunch and dinner service.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging courses in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program to diploma and degree students using a combination of theoretical content and active applied instructional methods.
- Prepare and present lectures and labs
- Evaluate student progress and facilitate achievement.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advice to learners.
- Create a learning environment in labs and classrooms to ensure inclusivity and access for all learners.
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the restaurant and beverage industry in senior leadership role
- Bachelor's degree preference in Hospitality and Tourism, or Business
- Teaching experience/Provincial Instructor Diploma program is an asset
- WSET or equivalent certification an asset
- LMS/_Brightspace (D2L)_ knowledge as an asset
- Point of Sale system knowledge (Micros or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of restaurant and beverage service, including both front and back house operations and event execution
- Background in leadership training and crosscultural communication an asset.
- Aptitude for mentoring and teaching others
- Possess a positive, respectful attitude and high commitment to student success and collaboration.
- International work and/or teaching experience an asset.
- Strong network of contacts with other professionals, organizations and employers.
- Demonstrate computer skills are essential, Basic level proficiency in _Office 365_ including _Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint _
- Strong organization skills
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
