Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to Pharmacy Technician students in both online and lab environments
- Evaluate students in both online and lab environments
- Develop and maintain curriculum
- Effectively collaborates with the Associate Dean and with program colleagues
- Actively contribute to the college, school and program
- Maintain positive relationships with the Associate Dean, program colleagues, other members of the College, and members of our communities as a whole
- Will also meet the major accountabilities as documented in the college instructor job description
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to teach and evaluate students
- Excellent communication skills; classroom management and leadership skills
- Ability to contribute to School and/or College initiatives and a commitment to continuous learning
- Working knowledge of Kroll dispensing software
- Familiarity with hospital dispensing software
Education and Experience
- A Pharmacy Technician certificate or diploma from a CCAPP accredited program and currently regulated as a Pharmacy Technician in British Columbia
- Current practice in a community or hospital pharmacy environment, working to full scope of practice including nonsterile compounding of dosage forms including topical creams, ointments, gels, oral solutions, suspensions, and capsules, lip balms, and suppositories.
- Three to four years teaching experience in a postsecondary environment, and teaching across the curriculum
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
