We're looking for a teammate proficient in formulation, lyophilization, and biomaterials, who is also knowledgeable about GMP manufacturing. Someone with exceptional leadership skills and experience who can help establish our process development efforts.

There are multiple openings covering junior-level and intermediate-level.

This role will involve you participating/leading projects from the bench to develop and validate processes for producing the reagents that fuel our next-generation assays.

We are constantly optimizing our lab to help push science forward at unprecedented rates.

You will be expected and encouraged to actively contribute to our product development direction, and present novel procedural and scientific concepts that will positively impact all aspects of Vital's operations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work in a crossdisciplinary team with the goal of driving innovation of scalable processes related to the manufacture of lyophilized products and the use of microvolume dispenser and lyophilizer
  • Develop, optimize and validate new equipment to support our product pipeline
  • Define, develop and validate manufacturing processes in clean and dry room settings
  • Planning, running and/or supervising experiments to support process development
  • Author, review, and hone our standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve quality and accelerate our product pipeline
  • Be actively involved in laboratory management and leadership of associates
  • Partner closely to provide manufacturing support to our research, assay development, upstream formulation, and engineering teams to achieve performance requirements
  • Architect systems and processes to streamline our development pipeline and crossdisciplinary integrations (formulation, stabilization, microfluidics, readout)
  • Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Communicate effectively with peers and leadership to support decisionmaking, including summarizing results in reports and presentations
  • Contribute to departmental strategies and provide input on lab requirements and improvements

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering or related field with 13 years of hands on experience in an industrial GMP setting
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 years experience in formulation
  • Experience in the use of quantitative analytical methods such as UV-Vis, and manufacturing equipment such as lyophilizer and microvolume dispenser
  • Experience with troubleshooting and development of formulation for diagnostic use (for example comprehensive metabolic panel and lipid panel) is highly desired
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical/manufacturing equipment is highly desired
  • Ability to communicate results and concepts clearly to fellow scientists
  • Ability to handle a diverse workload
  • High learning agility
  • An appreciation of puns

What you'll get:

  • An opportunity to change the face of medical diagnostics
  • Working with a highfunctioning, deeply motivated team
  • A competitive compensation package
