The J&J Supply Chain is an integrated, global supply chain that serves the needs of the 1 billion people who use J&J products each and every day around the world.

We manufacture more than 26 billion product units per year, from raw component sourcing to end product distribution as efficiently and effectively as possible with high quality, compliance and service performance.

Our supply chain organization makes up 45% of all J&J employees, and includes 125 internal manufacturing plants, manages 581 external manufacturers, utilizes 459 distribution centers, partners with over 3700 direct suppliers, produces over 300,000 sku's.

The EHS Manager will provide technical expertise on safety, environmental, ergonomics, and occupational health program components.

This position will lead the establishment, maintenance, and improvement of robust processes to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and control EHS risk in the Office, Deliver and remote workplaces.

The EHS Manager will drive action plan completion, provide technical support to ensure regulatory compliance and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) enterprise standards compliance, and ensure J&J goals are delivered.

The EHS Manager will support EHS audits and inspections, recommendations, and process improvements.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide EHS support to Ontario, Canada facilities, other assigned offices, deliver facilities, remote workers, dangerous goods transportation, and fleet drivers within the region.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure identification, assessment, and control of EHS risks and compliance with regulatory and J&J standards including emergency response and permit to work processes.
  • Maintain the site hazard communication program including SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and chemical database inventories and the required training programs.
  • Lead and facilitate the Joint Health and Safety Committee(s) and Sustainability Team(s) and provide coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Complete annual waste audits and submit the results to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
  • Lead and facilitate site emergency response team(s) and ensure that sites are following WSIB requirements.
  • Perform ergonomic workstation assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Compile and report monthly, quarterly, and annual EHS metrics.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to local, state, and national agencies.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training.
  • Maintain a training matrix of company and regulatory requirements, tracking, reporting, and develop applicable educational and awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinate the execution of inspections, Gemba walks with multidisciplinary teams to identify the level of compliance and find opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigate and report incidents that occurred on the premises and follow up on implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions to prevent future recurrence.
  • Prepare audit reports/corrective action plans and collaborate with key stakeholders to implement corrective measures.
  • Develop EHS objectives for the assigned programs auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and effectiveness to management via dashboards & reports.
  • Support and facilitate site EHS committees/teams to ensure implementation of the EHS program.
  • Maintain the EHS Compliance Calendar of all Departmental, Regulatory and J&J standard events and deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain the Change Management process to identify, establish and verify controls to prevent impacts to the safety and environment.

Education:


Required:
University/Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, management, or safety sciences

Preferred:
Advanced degree in engineering, science, management, or safety sciences
