Job Description:


Reporting to the Manager, Counselling Services and Welcome Centre for Student Support Services, the incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive clerical and reception services to support student and client access to Student Support Services, primarily the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL), Counselling Services, and General inquiries with regards to Student Support Services.

The Incumbent will also be called upon for general navigation across the College per student inquiries.

The incumbent is responsible for collection of data sets, and cross trains amongst the team of Student service representatives at the Welcome Centre to collect and record data sets for the Department dashboards and Net Promoter Scores.


The Student Services Representative is very often the first point of contact for both Student Support Services and the College and is responsible to set a positive, professional tone in interactions with all clients, dealing primarily with highly sensitive, confidential matters that often require the incumbent to assess a client's emotional state or demeanor.

The incumbent is an integral team member within the College and Student Support Services.


Required Qualifications:

  • One (1) year certificate in Office Administration or equivalent;
  • Three (3) years practical experience in a "high demand" clientservice setting in an educational institution or equivalent experience in a similar setting;
  • Work experience in a complex detailoriented, customer service driven computerized office setting;
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and/or certification in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Office experience with web publishing software;
  • Proven ability to handle inquiries with respect, confidence, and tact;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, adapt to changing priorities and work under tight timelines.

Anticipated Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 8:30AM-5:00PM
