Experiences Canada is a national charitable organization dedicated to opening young people's minds and involving them in a broader world.

We do this by facilitating experiential learning opportunities such as youth forums, travel and exchanges.

Experiences Canada's programming provides Canadian youth with the unique opportunity to see Canada differently, exploring this country's diverse histories, cultures, and contemporary challenges, and making life-changing connections with peers from coast-to-coast-to-coast.


THE OPPORTUNITY
Experiences Canada promotes opportunities for youth to explore their country through experiential learning programs within Canada.

Building relationships with educators, funders, and other not-for-profits to support the development of its programs is an ongoing part of its operations.

This primary focus of the role will be researching outreach and marketing strategies to schools and other youth organisations.

The student will help to identify and build contact lists / database for targeted communications and assist with creating direct marketing materials.

Secondary focus will be as a general member of the communications team. There are a wide range of activities undertaken under Communications that support the projects Experiences Canada delivers.

This may include researching social media influencers, researching specific marketing needs, helping to promote our programs, edit/create promotional videos, support social media content and more.


Supervision and Mentoring Plan
This is a hybrid position that includes 1-2 days per week in the office, with the remaining days remote. The student will report to the Director of Communications.

The student will be provided with daily direction and supervision, which will include frequent meetings with team members and ongoing coaching.

Mentoring will be a large part of the role.


Fields of Study
Arts (History, Political Science, Gender Studies, Cultural Studies), Education, Journalism, Communications (Marketing) Business (Marketing). Fluency in both official languages will be considered an asset.

Eligibility:


All applicants must:

  • Be able to work from a virtual (home) office with own computer, internet, phone
  • Have no criminal record and be able to pass a vulnerable sector check
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada
