MLS Academy Equipment Coordinator**
Location:National Soccer Development Centre (UBC), Vancouver, BC**
Terms:Full-time, Permanent**
Reports to: Manager, Equipment Operations & MLS Academy Equipment Manager**Vancouver Whitecaps FC is looking for a new team member to join our Ticketing Sales & Service department in the position of
MLS Academy Equipment Coordinator.


The
MLS Academy Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with all equipment and apparel requirements for the Whitecaps FC MLS Academy teams.

This position will also support the overall equipment needs of all club programs and events.


Specific Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
General Duties

  • Perform all jobrelated administrative tasks as assigned by the MLS Academy Equipment Manager
  • Ensure that the standards of organization and cleanliness are upheld in all equipment and kit storage areas, as well as the team locker rooms
  • Work with the equipment manager to ensure that all facilities, equipment and training sessions meet the club standard
  • Work with the equipment team to ensure that the equipment facilities are always kept in a clean and orderly manner
  • Enforce training facility rules, policies and procedures for players and staff
  • Run MLS Academy training days/match days when the MLS Academy Equipment Manager is traveling with a team
Apparel and Equipment Management

  • Assist with the distribution and inventory control of all equipment and apparel for the MLS Academy players and staff
  • Ensure that all uniforms and related apparel/equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition
  • Assist with uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at training and on game day
Team Travel

  • Assist with packing and preparation for each team trip and travel, as required, for away matches (local league play, tournaments, MLS NEXT regular season and Playoffs/Showcases)
  • Assist with equipment transport to and from the airport before/after team travel dates
Training Day and Game Day Responsibilities

  • Assist with all MLS Academy home game days
  • Be familiar with all league match day requirements and ensure that all league rules, policies, and standards are strictly adhered to
  • Work with the MLS Academy Equipment Manager to execute the game day set up for all home games
  • Transport all team warmup equipment to the field (balls, cones, pinnies, etc.)
  • Inflate and transport match balls as per specific league requirements

Qualifications/Experience:


  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Experience in a High-Performance Sports Environment
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French, etc.) is an asset
  • A clean and valid BC driver's license
  • Must have knowledge and passion for soccer
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 50 lbs
  • Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and additional background screening
  • Must successfully complete MLS Safe Sport training
  • Must possess a passport and be able to freely travel internationally
  • Ability to work nonstandard work week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
