Who are we looking for?
We are currently seeking a full-time
Human Resources Manager to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Oakville, Ontario


Main responsibilities:


  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees including creating offer letters, collection of required documents, onboarding checklist completion, and accounts creation.
  • Review and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Manual to comply with current legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee at the Oakville location.
  • Monitor compliance of Occupational Health and Safety at all Daemar Inc. locations including conducting health and safety audits as needed.
  • Review's policies, practices, and maintains compliance with provincial employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices. Creates new policies as required.
  • Support the performance management process to ensure continuous performance improvement and the implementation of best practices. Assist managers with coaching, performance discussions, followup on timelines and ensuring that all employees' goals or action plans are identified.
  • Provide Managers with tools to handle employee relations issues including attendance, absences, disability management, discipline, and terminations.
  • Participate in employee relations issues as they arise and respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, grievances, investigations, and terminations.
  • Assist in conducting investigations when employee complaints or issues are brought forth, partnering with external partners, if appropriate.
  • Facilitate performance review cycle, ensuring that process is understood, and monitor progress throughout cycle.
  • Assist managers with implementing crosstraining, and providing resources to develop employee skills, as required
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with benefit and retirement plan administrations
  • Review current benefit plan to ensure it meets the needs of the company and workforce
  • Assist employees with enrolment into benefit and retirement plan program as well as responding to ongoing inquiries from enrolled employees.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by keeping up to date on legislative changes, attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations. Monitors trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Requirements:


  • Postsecondary diploma in Human Resources or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of working Human Resources experience with progressive levels of responsibility.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of HR Management experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid CHRP or equivalent Human Resources Certification
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HR compliance, provincial laws, employment laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of HRIS and talent management systems.
